Laura is a playwright and theatre creator who is passionate about collaborative creation and social justice. Following a production internship at Nightwood Theatre, she worked for Summerworks (Sponsorship Director), Faustwork Mask Theatre (Marketing Manager), Human Cargo (Producer), and Theatre Recap (Co-Founder), writing, co-producing, and acting in several plays. Witch Hazel and Last Lighthouse were workshopped and presented by Theatre Recap, evolving into Confessions and Gone Home, which comprised Glasswater’s Prayers for the New World. Through Theatre Recap, Laura led Project Pamoja, a theatre workshop for youth in Kibera, Kenya. Laura is developing writing projects for stage and screen.

Emily, originally from Victoria BC, earned a BFA in acting at the University of Victoria. She has lived in Toronto for three years and has been a part of Glasswater Theatre since their first production, Far from the Tree. As an associate artist, Emily was also the movement coach and choreographer for The Queens, and co-created and performed in The Omega Project. Other credits include: Honest Aesop’s Fables (Toronto Fringe/Tarradiddle Productions), The Drowning Girls (Alumnae Theatre Company), Yellow Face (fu-GEN/Hart House Theatre) and Pretty Little Instincts (SummerWorks/SNAFU Dance Theatre).
